Editorial Process (Peer Review)

Preliminaries

  1. Submission of the manuscript by authors (see author information for submission).
  2. Plagiarism check by the journal and compliance with editorial standards (see Anti-plagiarism Policy).

It's important to note that the receipt of articles by the journal Perspectivas Sociales y Administrativas does not imply the obligation to publish them. The Editors and reviewers are responsible for selecting those worthy of publication.

  1. Editorial Relevance Review (Pre-arbitration)

It should be indicated that the Editor may reject an article without initiating the peer review process if the article is not in accordance with the format specified in the journal, the topic is not relevant to the editorial line, or serious structural problems are identified.

Peer Review Process

  1. Double-blind peer review process (see Format for Scientific Article Evaluation).

It is based on the traditional double-blind peer review system: at least two experts in the field, who are not affiliated with our publishing institution, preferably with a doctoral degree, will conduct the respective observations and provide a verdict on the manuscript before its publication. This evaluation will be conducted based on assessment criteria previously established by the journal. In addition, the journal Perspectivas Sociales y Administrativas thoroughly ensures that none of the reviewers belong to the same institution as any of the authors. After receiving the evaluation, the Editorial Committee will make a decision regarding the publication of the article, which can be:

  • Accept the article without modifications.
  • Accept the article with minor revisions.
  • Accept the article with major revisions. If revisions are required, the author will receive peer reviews to incorporate recommendations. If significant revisions are needed, the article will be sent back for review by the same reviewers. Once the Editorial Committee receives the final version of the article, a final decision on its publication will be made.
  • Reject the article, in which case the author will be informed of the reasons for not publishing it in its current form.

Reviewers have up to 15 days to provide their verdict (first evaluation); authors have two weeks to make corrections requested by the referees; and if a second evaluation is necessary, it will take an estimated two more weeks.

In the event that one reviewer accepts and another rejects a scientific article, a third reviewer will be assigned to determine the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript.

  1. Feedback sent to authors

In the case where publication is accepted with modifications, authors must make the necessary corrections requested by the peer reviewers in order to proceed with the editorial process. Multiple rounds of review may occur in this phase until there is agreement with the suggestions made by the reviewers and editors.

To ensure proper follow-up on suggestions and observations during the article revision, the author should refer to the following document: Record of Responses to Corrections

  1. Review of changes and acceptance

Once the new version including changes requested by the reviewers is submitted, the editorial team will review compliance with the journal's editorial standards.

Grammatical Correction and Layout

  1. Grammatical Correction

A grammar and spelling expert will review the document and make changes to ensure accuracy.

  1. Layout

A professional will adapt the document's content to the journal's publication format to enable proper and easy viewing for future readers.

  1. Author Approval

These changes made by the correction, layout, and rights session team must be approved by the author before manuscript publication. The author will send back the signed document, which can be signed individually by each author or submitted as a single document containing all authors' signatures.

Note: At the author's request and once the peer review process has been completed, a pre-print of the manuscript may be made until the technical editing and layout process is completed. The manuscript will indicate its pre-print status.

Publication and quality review

  1. Publication

The editorial team of the journal Perspectivas Sociales y Administrativas publishes after completing the previous process. The publication is done in both .PDF and HTML formats.

  1. Final Quality Review of Published Manuscript

Finally, an external editorial team member (anonymous) not affiliated with Esprint will review the documents to ensure editorial rigor and consistency across all manuscripts.
