Abstract

Bibliometric studies constitute a fundamental tool for observing and interpreting the behavior and evolution of scientific production around a specific topic. In this regard, the present research conducts a bibliometric analysis of higher education in economic development. To achieve this, articles published in journals indexed in Scopus between 2001 and 2024 were selected, using the search terms “higher education” and “economic development” in the titles of publications, which allowed the identification of a total of 84 articles. The analysis was carried out using the Bibliometrix and VOSviewer software, which facilitate the formal and thematic characterization of scientific production through bibliometric indicators such as annual scientific production, collaboration maps between countries, the most globally cited document, the most relevant keywords, author productivity, and the frequency of terms over time, as well as the main lines of research and the relationship between keywords and research themes.
