Abstract

The present bibliometric study examines the behavior and advances in scientific production on social capital and entrepreneurship with a gender perspective, based on articles indexed in the Scopus database and published between 1997 and 2025. The research, descriptive retrospective in nature and analytical in character, integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches to assess and measure the evolution of scientific knowledge in the field. For data processing and visualization, the Bibliometrix and VOSviewer software were used. The results reveal a sustained growth in publications, with an average annual rate of 9.59% and a notable increase from 2020 onwards, confirming the growing relevance of the topic in discussions on economic development, social innovation, and sustainability. The findings highlight the most influential contributions, the authors with the greatest impact, and the countries with the highest scientific output. A geographical concentration of production was observed in China, the United Kingdom, and the United States, underscoring the need to expand regional research contexts. Finally, key emerging trends were identified, such as social and female entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship education which call for a broader thematic focus encompassing more inclusive and sustainable perspectives.
