Abstract

This research conducted a bibliometric analysis on food security and eating habits, based on 370 articles indexed in Scopus (1990–2025) using the search criteria in the title (“food security” and “eating habits”). The study employed Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to characterize scientific production through indicators such as: annual and country-level scientific output, productivity by type of institution, most cited articles, journals with the highest number of publications on food security and eating habits, keyword analysis and their relationship with the topic, and finally, research trends. The results showed a growing trend in the study of agricultural sector consumption and the data envelopment analysis of the global food security index, with research lines focused on sustainable development, poverty reduction, economic growth, food self-sufficiency, and crop yield.
