Bibliometric analysis is a fundamental tool for examining the evolution and dynamics of scientific production on a specific topic. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of academic production related to the environment and territorial planning, considering articles published in journals indexed in Scopus between 1985 and 2025. The search was delimited using the terms TITLE(“environment”) AND TITLE(“territorial planning”), which allowed us to identify a representative corpus of publications. The data was processed using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer software, which facilitate the formal and thematic characterization of scientific production through bibliometric indicators. The indicators analyzed included: annual and per-country production, most cited articles, journals with the highest volume of publications, keyword and thematic network analysis, and the identification of major research trends. The results show sustained growth in studies at the intersection of environment and territorial planning, with an emphasis on areas such as sustainable territorial planning, environmental resilience, climate change, natural resource management, and planned urban development, which are emerging as priority areas for future research.
